The Alpine arc, unique in its natural resources, is a privileged context for the promotion of health tourism. Thanks to the peculiarities of the geographical context, the Alpine arc is able to provide various tools and resources, useful to promote the health of the individual, regardless of whether he/she is affected by diseases or simply wants to increase his/her health conditions.
The objective of the project is to provide guidelines for the implementation of actions to promote health tourism in the Alps, starting from the opportunities offered by the natural context of the same and focusing on the use of new technologies at the service of health tourism. These guidelines will be available for partners in the area and will be the basis for the creation of future calls for proposals.
The Foundation will be the leader of WP5 related to the identification and analysis of existing technologies able to monitor the health parameters of the individual in relation to the natural resources of the Alps, that the WP1 will have identified as of interest able to influence the health of people.
The technologies will also be analyzed and tested as a tool that allows the end user to visualize, in practice, the benefits that the territory can bring him. The aim, in addition to promoting the development and use of technologies at the service of the user is also to analyze the motivational factors that can push the user to choose this type of vacation.
The Foundation will involve the Partners and the territories concerned. The scientific/methodological support will come mainly from Politecnico di Milano, Department of Management Engineering and CNR ITIA – EVA.
The hypothesized effects are located mainly on two aspects, which in a systemic perspective, have positive effects on the attractiveness of the territory and influence each other:
Economic growth of the territory: which occurs through the increased attractiveness of tourism in the territories of the Alpine arc, of which Lombardy Region is also provided and which translates into a greater demand for operators for tourism services.
Promotion of a culture of wellbeing: both in terms of prevention and, possibly, in the future, of care. In this sense, the attractiveness of the Lombardy Region as a reference area for the promotion of people’s health is increasing.
